We tried to save three neighborhood trees
Rallied the neighbors
all called the city
Fought the power
crushed the man
Instead I was lured
into the worst of two evils
No trees and more yard
further sidewalks
Or a lot less yard
and still no trees
because they
damaged their root system
on purpose
we lost...the battle
