"A boy and a girl...what more could you want?"

I could want a larger family, five according to my husband. However, two and whatever the third might be (perhaps we will get lucky and have a duckbilled platypus) will have to do.
"Where will you put a third baby?"

We will have to build an HUGE addition on our house. God only knows, that no child or duckbilled platypus of mine should EVER have to share a room with their sibling.

"The dreaded middle child syndrome...one will always be left out."

Left out of what?...Barbies, if that's the case Al would rather be left alone with his trucks. Plus, what child doesn't feel left out at some point with or without siblings. Blame life for that...not your sister.

If you are thinking of having a third child you MUST be able to afford it...show off. Since when are any of us are able to "afford" children? Kids cost an unbelievable amount of money, we make it work and that's what MOST of us do regardless of how much money or children we have.

With the holiday fast approaching I am holidaze.

Please don't take this the wrong way, I LOVE the holidays with 110 percent of my heart...however I am already dazed. Dazed, with the amount of work I put into this insane LOVE for Christmas. I want to get the MOST perfect gifts and make the the people I love so happy inside! I haul the kids from store to store, from Santa to portraits, to parades and carriage rides. I decorated the house the day after Thanksgiving, on nine hours of sleep for the week. Really, with midnight shift and shopping that was one tough week. Oh no, I still have to get my Christmas cards in the mail. I am officially one week into December and I am OVERWHELMED with the amount of goodness I MUST create. I put these super HIGH expectations on myself to make everything perfect (thanks Mom) and I kill myself living up to them. With that being said...I LOVE IT. I thrive off the stresses of Christmas, the bad parking, pushing in stores, the rude clerks, the last minute shoppers, the unbelievable deals, freezing SNOW, and all my last minute sewing projects.

Wouldn't trade this HOLIDAZE in for the world.

Dried corn huskers hand lotion -it fell between my dresser and wall months ago
Pennies, buy two get one free -Arlo has an implanted seeking device for such pennies
Broken cell phones -in case of an emergency where I might need a phone that has been taped together
Oh and a little something from my bachelorette party- I can picture now next to the kids toys I am selling.

The list could go on and I am laughing, way too hard at myself. I swear; there is something wrong with me because I think I am way funnier than I am.

My daughter starts dance and school...how will I be able to wear my pj's all day?

So, here's the pros/cons with the outcome being fair. These shifts will do me just fine while my babies are young and I still have the energy to do this. I am so fine with staying up all night, it's the staying up the whole next day that gets tricky.

No, I wasn't the right caller or did I answer a question correctly...I showed up to Jimmy John's on 1$ sub day and got tickets.
So, I am a winner.

This was Al's first LIVE event.
MJ is an old pro with two Elmo concerts and Disney on Ice under her belt.

Started off...rockin good!

Ended with Al crowd surfing and moshing in the pit...then he dropped some random two-year baby ass to the floor.
Finally...a trip to The Place "in-house" medical team and a
very close call on 3-5stiches

We survived and Al will have the scar to prove his first kick ass show!

Anyone who has children should be familiar with baby Einstein programs and products
Today I feel like this guy....Blah!

Reasons why?

1# I broke my new bathroom sink while being stupid. I think I want to blame it on my husband -just because I don't want to admit it's my fault.

2# My daughter is totally unparentable while at her grandparent(s) house of fun

(it's as if I don't exist while in the realm of shear happiness)

3# Why won't my little man just get this tooth already so I can start weaning him.

4# So, I really don't want to wean; but I am sick of pumping and painful nursers.

5# Why can't all my friends move closer so I don't have to be alone when I decided to go out on a whim.

6# Just an after thought -grandparent has the word "parent" in it? Oh crap, but it also has the word "grand"...grander than parents?

7# I am so super tired of working EVERY weekend.

8# However, I am grateful to have a job but knowing everyday that it's not secure is crap.

9# Sick of worrying about issues beyond my control.

10# BLAH

My goal was to lose 25lbs by June 1st

I failed terribly and lost 23lbs

Really, I couldn't be any happier as if I made my goal

My goals now...

to knock off these last 6lbs and hopfully fit into a size 8

before July 16th

Oh, how I heart my midwife.

I feel so much more at ease/peace with Arlo's arrival and relived to know that my next pregnancy will not be considered high risk. Arlo was officially born 3.5 days before the cut-off, which allows me to stay with the midwife team for any future pregnancies. Also, she believes since I was able to carry Myla full term that Arlo's pre-term status was not due to anything out of the ordinary. She laid out the plan for my next baby; I will be monitored starting at 20weeks and followed closely.

I just know... the third time a charm.

While visiting my new nephew in the hospital I was hit by a tidal wave of emotions regarding Arlo's birth. Every feeling came at me full force and I am still overwhelmed by our journey. These were by far the toughest moments of my life thus far.

The NICU

around the white room

mothers rocking with empty arms

pumping for baby

accepting only from tubes

no cooing and sighing

alarm ringing buzzing ringing buzzing

no breastfeeding or snuggles

temperatures not holding

machines inhaling exhaling

silence humming

plastic walls dividing my touch from yours

now breath by breath

you learned on your own

stronger each day then the one before

I am thankful everyday

for the day you came home

It's been since my late teens that I have written any poetry and this was a bit rhymey even for me. I feel super rusty; but I needed this outlet. I don't want to relive these moments -detail by detail, only piece by piece. I know I didn't really allow myself to feel this while it was happening. Feeling it now is very emotionally and raw for me. I can't go back and say that I would change anything about our journey; I did what I thought best for my Arlo baby. My only wish is that I was more willing to accepted support because I know now that I didn't need to do this alone.

Ate kinda gross leftovers for lunch and dinner
Watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall before bed...had all sorts of naked man dreams

weight loss blog...what the *#@!

Please note...this blog was not suppose to be a weight loss journal! I truly apologize for any inconvenience this may have cause you while manifesting my skinniness. If you are looking for pictures of my most adorable children they will be along some day soon. For now, brief comments on my weight loss is all I have time for...stay tuned.

May 1st goal....COMPLETED....total lost 18lbs.

12lbs until "goal weight"...over halfway there 25lbs...13lbs gone.

I have NOT been working out and can't wait until the weather gives me a chance to lose "mad" weight.

Last brag and I am done for today...I am fitting into clothes that are circa "pre-babies"!

Oh neglected blog...I am sorry I have been a busy gal; with kids and more kids, painting basement projects, feng shui(ing) my love nest, losing weight, and various celebrations.

Just booked it!

The location for Arlo's very first birthday party.

I can't wait. Except for the part where I have to put on a swimsuit and run from the locker room to the water as fast as possible. At least I won't be alone b/c I will be inviting plenty of "mommies" who will swim for the sake of their children's happiness.

I believe with my recent complaints regarding my weight I am finally holding myself accountable.

Here is my progress...I've lost 7.5 pounds in the month of February.
